The Ogun State Ministry of Justice has raised the alarm over the increasing misuse of the criminal justice system to settle disputes that are purely civil in nature, warning that the practice undermines the rule of law and violates citizens’ constitutional rights. The Attorney-General and Commissioner for Justice, Oluwasina Ogungbade, who disclosed this in a statement issued in Abeokuta, said matters involving contracts, tenancy, domestic relationships and land ownership are increasingly being taken to the police instead of civil courts. The crash, which involved a trailer tanker reportedly affected by brake failure, resulted in the deaths of six men and one woman. In fulfilment of his promise, the Ogun State Governor, Prince Dapo Abiodun has rewarded medalists at the 22nd National Sports Festival held in Ogun State, 2025. The cash reward presentation took place on Monday at the June 12, Cultural Centre, Kuto, Abeokuta. Recall that the governor had in May, 2025 assured athletes representing the state the sum of N2.5m, N1.5m and N1 million for gold, silver and bronze medalists respectively. Ogun Targets 2,000km Of Road Construction Before End Of Abiodun’s Tenure

The Ogun State Government has disclosed that it has constructed over 1,600 kilometres of roads since 2019 and is working towards completing at least 2,000 kilometres before the end of Governor Dapo Abiodun’s tenure.
