Dangote Targets Steel, Power, Ports In New Industrial Push

President of Dangote Group, Aliko Dangote, has unveiled plans to expand into steel production, electricity generation and port development as part of a broader ambition to accelerate industrialisation across Africa. Dangote, whose conglomerate spans cement, sugar, salt, fertiliser, and petrochemicals, said his long term goal is to deepen Africa’s manufacturing base beyond oil refining and position the continent as a global industrial force. His latest flagship project, the Dangote Petroleum Refinery & Petrochemicals, is now operational and producing about 650,000 barrels of refined products daily. He said output is expected to double within the next three year as expansion plans progress. CSOs Decry Alleged Bias by Lagos Commissioner of Police Against Ojomu Royal Family Youth Forum, Alhaji Hammed Tajudeen

The Coalition of Civil Society Organizations in collaboration with the Centre for Citizens Rights has called for investigation into the alleged accusation against the Chairman of the Youth Forum of Ojomu Royal Family in Lagos State, Hammed Tajudeen. Speaking at a press briefing in Lagos, the Chairman of the Coalition, Comrade Adeyemi olorunshogo , said the allegations by the Lagos State Police Command against Tajudeen are baseless.  The Coalition threatened to embark on protest if the police command fails to retract its allegations with the next seven days. Ogun Shut African Refractory And Allied Products Limited Over Viral Video, Assures Victims Of Medical Care

Ogun State Government has shut  African Refractory and Allied Products Limited, ARAP, Ogijo - a ramming production company which crushes quartz stones into fine powder for lining of furnaces in steel companies over a viral video involving a formal employee. In the video, Bartholomew Aniemeka alleged that the contacted contagious diseases which be called silicosis while working in the company until the left in June 2025.   While visiting the company on a fact-finding mission with officials from the Ministry of Environment and the Ogun State Environmental Protection Agency OGEPA, Commissioner of Environment, Ola Oresanya said the company will remain shut until investigations over the allegations are carried out.  He therefore assured the public that the state government is on top of the situation while Bartholomew who is in stable condition at the TopMed Hospital in Ogijo in company of his sister who expressed concern over the health of her  brother in the viral video ...

Ogun Waste Board Authority Begins Special Clearance Operation

Ogun State Waste Management Authority (OGWAMA) has begun a "Special Operation" to evacuate backlog of waste across the state.  The newly- appointed Special Adviser to the Governor and Managing Director of Ogun State Waste Management Authority, Hon Farouk Akintunde, said the operation became necessary to rid the state of accumulated waste that were not properly attended to before he took over the affairs of the authority. He said: "All the machinery of the authority has now been deployed to different parts of the State and the operation is going on simultaneously especially in major towns of Abeokuta, Sango-Ota , Ijebu- Ode,Ifo among others, while "Night Operation", which was suspended several months back, has returned immediately in full swing.
