Olagoke Charges FG To Take Proactive Measures Against Cash Crunch, Fuel Scarcity
The Founder, Spiritual Head and Grand Imam of Shafaudeen In Islam Worldwide, Professor Sabit Ariyo Olagoke JP has called on the Federal Government to take proactive measures urgently to alleviate the sufferings of the masses occasioned by naira swap and fuel scarcity before the protests against the crisis are hijacked by hoodlums.
The cleric, in a statement made available to journalists, warned that the protests in some areas of the country, as reported in the social and regular media, could lead to another "End SARS " which is likely to claim the lives of innocent Nigerians.
Professor Olagoke noted that the initial plan of the Federal Government was to curb the activities of moneybag politicians, who might want to win the election at all cost through vote buying, but according to him, the process has been hijacked by the so-called politicians.
He noted that the crisis has created an insinuation that the Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria, Mr. Godwin Emefiele was acting the script of President Mohammad Buhari, who is allegedly reluctant to hand over power to a southerner, most especially Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, who is reportedly being supported by many northern governors because of his political antecedents.
While speaking about those who sell and spray money at parties, Prof. Olagoke said that they should be arrested and brought to book.
"Those who sell and spray our currencies at parties should be arrested and prosecuted since it is against the law of the country," he said.
Prof. Olagoke, who is also the Mogaji Ogunelu of Aare Alasa Dynasty, while speaking more on the crisis, stated that the hardship is artificial and is being directed towards achieving some hidden plans as witnessed in the 1993 presidential election and “Hope 93”, of the late Chief MKO Abiola that eventually led to the annulment of the election.
"We must be focused and elect competent leaders for the restoration of our economy.
"The accompanying crisis of mismanagement has created insinuations including the belief that the CBN Governor has a hidden agenda of promoting the cause of Biafra being championed by Nnamdi Kanu as well as promoting terrorism.
"The Fulani occupation agenda allegedly by President Buhari is said to be part of their hidden plan. The choice of Kanuri-born Kashim Shettima as Tinubu's running mate and the likelihood of creating crisis to rubbish APC-led government so that Tinubu would not have any chance of becoming president at all 2023 are said to be part of the plan to derail the process," he said.
He however, called on religious leaders to speak to their followers to be calm, saying that the tough period will not last and urged them to be tolerant in handling the current situation.
"All forms of misdemeanours must be resisted, and religious people must seek divine intervention. The hardship is going to be temporary; at the end of the tunnel, darkness will give way for the expected light. Let’s have positive mind and be hopeful," he said.
