Billionaire international lawyer, politician and a philanthropist, Hon. Ned Nwoko has demanded a retraction of a story written against him by an online media, Premium Times that he is a land grabber and demanded a payment of N10 Billion as compensation by the media house. This was contained in a letter addressed to the Managing Director of Premium Times by his lawyers, Rolls Law Firm, dated May 17, 2021 and signed by Onyeka Nwokolo Esq. The Director-General of the Nigerian Tourism Development Corporation (NTDC), Mr Folorunsho Coker, has said that he will use his fresh mandate to accelerate the growth of domestic tourism. Coker made the statement in Abuja on Sunday while speaking with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) on his reappointment last week as the Director-General of the NTDC by President Muhammadu Buhari. He said that his immediate desire was to hasten tourism growth and foster socio-economic development of Nigeria, using the tourism value-chain. Coker described his reappointment as another opportunity to collaborate with critical stakeholders in the tourism sector to deepen growth, using domestic tourism as catalyst. The Nigerian Tourism Development Corporation (NTDC) has concluded plans to explore Lagos Creative Communities on Google Arts & Culture in five different ways. The project tagged; 'Eko for Show', is in partnership with Google Arts & Culture towards celebrating Lagos and its creative communities. Some lawyers and civil society activists have commended states, including Lagos, that have passed laws to fight corruption. They believe that the recently passed laws would help foster transparency in government. The Lagos State House of Assembly recently passed a bill titled: 'Lagos State Public Complaints and Anti-Corruption Commission Law’, which has been assented to by Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu. Some of those who spoke about the bill, also commended the state for being proactive noting that positive steps so far taken by successive governments in the state have succeeded in putting it above others in the federation.
