Araraume Denies Authoring Statement on Imo North Senatorial Primary, Reaffirms Loyalty to APC

Former senator representing Imo North Senatorial District, Senator Ifeanyi Godwin Araraume, has distanced himself from what he described as false, unauthorised and mischievous publications circulating on various media platforms and allegedly issued by him.

Particularly, Araraume denied authorship of a statement titled, "A Message of Gratitude, Unity, and a Clarion Call to Rebuild Okigwe Zone," insisting that he neither authorised nor approved its release.

In a statement issued by the Office of Distinguished Senator Ifeanyi Godwin Araraume, PhD, the former lawmaker described the publication as a complete fabrication designed to mislead the public, distort his position and create unnecessary tension within the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Imo State.

Araraume reaffirmed his status as a committed member of the APC, stressing that his loyalty to the party, its leadership and ideals remains unwavering.

According to him, he has consistently conducted himself in line with the constitution of the ruling party and remains fully committed to its internal democratic processes and decisions.

The former senator also stated that he was patiently awaiting the official position and final decision of the party concerning the Imo North Senatorial Primary, dismissing claims in the disputed publication that he had declared himself the party's candidate.

He maintained that any official communication from him would only come through recognised and authorised channels.

Araraume further dismissed reports suggesting the existence of political differences between him and Governor Hope Uzodinma of Imo State, describing such claims as the imagination of the authors of the fake publications.

He noted that his relationship with the governor remains cordial, respectful and constructive, adding that both leaders are committed to the peace, progress and development of Imo State.

The former senator emphasised that the success of the APC is a collective responsibility and pledged to continue promoting unity, mutual respect and cooperation among party stakeholders.

He accused the authors of the controversial publications of attempting to sow discord and create divisions within the party, insisting that their efforts would not succeed.

Araraume therefore called on members of the APC, residents of Imo North and Imo State, the media and the general public to disregard the publications, describing them as false, misleading and of no consequence.

He reiterated his commitment to the ideals of the APC and expressed support for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu's Renewed Hope Agenda, pledging to continue working for the unity, progress and development of Imo State and Nigeria through lawful and responsible engagement.
