Why Ministerial Nominee: Godwin Jedy Agba Should Be Appointed As Nigeria's Petroleum Minister

Image
One of Nigeria’s very experienced energy administrators, Mr. Godwin Jedy-Aba, is a minister-nominee of President Muhammadu Buhari. And there is, understandably, song and dance in the quarters of those who know the capacity and experience of the nominee in the oil and gas sector. But for those who crave the enthronement of mediocrity to aid and abet the culture of incompetence or the regime of laissez faire in the management of the petroleum sector, the prospects of Jedy-Agba emerging as Buhari’s choice for the critical sector cannot resonate well with them. Regardless of the prognosis of possibilities or otherwise, Jedy-Agba is one of the few “technocrats” in a list that has been largely dubbed “political” by critics. Notwithstanding his previous temperate, restrained and strategic foray into partisan politics, his accomplishments and exploits as an astute administrator have not diminished a bit. His administrative savoir faire and legerdemain had been writ-large in his pub

"Its not mere coincidence that this summit is coming at a time when our dear country just signed into the African Continental Free Trade Agreement (ACFTA)," Ogunojemite said. He added that APFFLON saw

Ministerial List: NGO Urges Buhari To Include More Women ....... says 16.3 percent women grossly inadequate and uninclusive

Image
Following the ministerial list transmitted to the National Assembly by President Mohammadu Buhari on Tuesday and the ongoing screening, a Non -Governmental Organisation, Blossom Africa Initiative has urged the president to include more women in his cabinet. In a statement released by the President of the organisation, Mr Temitope Musowo, he said 7 women out of 43 people which represent 16.3 percent is grossly inadequate and against the 35 percent  affirmative action.  Mr Temitope believe the president failed to fulfil his campaign promise of including more women and youth in his government as nobody on the list submitted is bellow 50 years of age , adding that this would denial the country the fresh ideas and unique contributions women and youth are capable of bringing into governance.  "This list as far I am concerned is misogynistic and run foul of the principle of gender equality as obtained in Goal 5 of the United Nations 17 Sustainable Development Goals, to

NANS DISSOCIATES SELF FROM PURPORTED RECOMMENDATION.

PUBLIC DISCLAIMER!!! RE-NANS RECOMMENDS COMRADE CHINONSO OBASI AS SENIOR SPECIAL ASSISTANT TO THE PRESIDENT ON YOUTHS AND STUDENTS MATTER. Our attention has been drawn to recent online publications and surreptitious moves by some self acclaimed former leaders of our noble organization in respect to appointment to the Office of the Senior Special Assistant to President Mohammadu Buhari on Youths and Students Matters. Firstly, we wish to inform the public that those publications embarrassed good reasoning, ridicule public understanding and all means of acceptance. It is therefore ridiculous to associate such to our noble organization. The fact of the matter speaks for itself. The sponsor of the publication apart from being a renowned opposition to the government of President Muhammadu Buhari, former factional President of NANS (sponsored to divide NANS) also in 2019 served as a mobilizer for Atiku-Obi Presidential Campaign Council where he worked for the candidature of Atik
