Kogi : Primate Ayodele Predicts Victory For APC, Yahaya Bello In Supreme Court

  Ahead of the Supreme Court judgment in Kogi State, Primate Ayodele has hinted victory for the governor of Kogi state, Yahaya Bello and the All Progressives Congress (APC). The Supreme Court had fixed Monday, 31st Of August, 2020 to deliver judgment in the appeal brought before it by the governorship candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Musa Wada and his party. Mr. Wada and the PDP are challenging the re-election of the governor, Yahaya Bello of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the November 16, 2019 governorship election. Current Running Cost Is Enough For Providing Conducive Environment In Schools -Lagos Assembly

Principals of secondary schools in Lagos State have been charged to utilise the increased running cost for schools to provide conducive environment for learning. Chairman of the State House of Assembly Committee on Education, Hon. Yinka Ogundimu stated this during the committee's visits to some schools in the state on Thursday 27th August to ensure compliance with COVID-19 protocols in the on-going West African Senior School Certificate Examination (WASSCE). The committee started the tour, which will take it round the six districts in the state, with  Education District 1 in Agege on Tuesday 25th August. The visit to Education District 6, Oshodi under the Tutor General/Permanent Secretary, Mrs. Okelola Oludara began on Thursday. Lagos Assembly Calls For Rehabilitation Of Dilapidated Public Schools

Members of the Lagos State House of Assembly committee on Education on Wednesday moved to more private and public schools under Education District 1 in Alimosho and urged the State Ministry of Education to conduct on the spot assessment of some public schools in the area due to infrastructural decay.  The Chairman of the House Committee on Education, Hon. Yinka Ogundimu gave the directive on Wednesday during a tour to schools in Lagos to assess the level of compliance to COVID-19 protocols as students are writing this year's West African Senior School Certificate Examination (WASSCE).  The Committee observed infrastructural decay at State Senior College Ipaja Road, Alimosho and Orisunmbare Senior High School, where students were writing their WASSCE exams under the shed.  In his comments at Orisunmbare  High School, Ogundimu said, "There are a lot of limitations in the school and we cannot blame the Principal. WASSCE: Lagos Assembly Committee Begins Visitation To Schools To Ensure Compliance With COVID-19 Protocols

In its effort to curtail the spread of Coronavirus among SS3 students writing the 2020 West African Senior School Certificate Examination (WASSCE), the Lagos State House of Assembly Committee on Education on Tuesday commenced visitation to selected schools in the state to ensure strict compliance to COVID-19 guidelines. The Committee was led on the visit, slated to last two weeks, by its Chairman, Hon. Yinka Ogundimu representing Agege Constituency 2. Ogundimu informed the schools visited that the purpose of the visit was to curtail the spread of COVID-19 in the state by ensuring that the schools complied with the protocols for the prevention of the spread of the Pandemic during the WASSCE exams. Part of the observation of the committee in most of the schools visited was that the bags of the students were packed together instead of being spaced, while they were writing the examination.  Some of the things the committee looked out for were physical distancing in the sitting arrangement

An Islamic advocacy group, Community of Muslim Professionals (CMP), on Thursday, warned the Director of Muslim Rights Concern (MURIC), Professor Ishaq Akintola, to desist from sowing the seeds of religious friction in Ogun State in the bid to promote his own brand of irredentism.
