A former member of the Federal House of Representatives and an international lawyer of repute, Prince Ned Nwoko has urged members of the Association of Ex-Local Government Chairmen of Nigeria (ASELGON) to be committed to nation building. Nwoko spoke during his investiture as the Grand Patron of the Association in his mansion in Idumuje Ugboko, Delta State on Saturday 23rd November, 2019. The politician stated that the responsibility was big for him as the first grand patron of the association, adding that he would do his best to support their ideals. "I have no doubt that with little support and your zeal, you will play a lot of roles in nation building. "I am a grassroots person also, even if you have 30% support across all the local governments, you can make a lot of difference," he said. The duo of the former governor of Ogun State, Ibikunle Amosun and the incumbent Governor of Ondo State, Mr. Rotimi Akeredolu were reportedly given the disgrace of their lives as they were turned to observers at the last National Executive Council meeting of the All Progressives Congress (APC), which held recently at the party's national secretariat in Abuja. Sources at the crucial meeting revealed that the two top politicians were so treated based on their alleged anti-party activities in the 2019 General Elections. It will be recalled that while ex-governor Amosun fielded a candidate from the Alliance Peoples Movement (APM) for the governorship election in Ogun State, Governor Rotimi Akeredolu of Ondo State highjacked and diverted money meant for election in the state for Action Alliance. The National Union of Ogoni Students international (NUOS INTL USA) and Ogoni Lives Matter International (OLM USA) have urged the Federal Government of Nigeria to expel Shell Oil from Ogoniland and posthumously exonerate the late Ken Saro Wiwa. The groups, over the weekend,  remniscenced on  the "horrific murder and the Kangaroo judicial hanging of the Nigerian state of its forefathers and heroes" at the 24th anniversary of the action in St. Louis, Missouri, USA. The occasion was reportedly honored by a cross spectrum of human rights communities, supporters and friends of Ogonis struggle, who paid tributes to their "untarnished character, courage and conviction" and vowed to take the fight to restore their good names and dignity as well as ensure that their names are removed from the Nigerian criminal records. A chieftain of the Ogun State chapter of the National Union of Road Transport Workers (NURTW), who is also gunning for the state chairmanship position of the union, Alhaji Akeem Bodunrin aka Iyeru has reportedly declared a total war against the National President of the union, Alhaji (Professor) Tajudeen Ibikunle Baruwa. According to information made available to us, the relationship between Iyeru and Baruwa became frosty, when the latter won the election few months ago as the National President of the union. A source had told us that Iyeru, who had been eyeing the position of the State Chairmanship of the Ogun State council of the NURTW, had been suspicious that Alhaji Baruwa would not approve of him (Iyeru) getting the enviable state chairmanship slot.
