Eid-El-Kabir: Lagos APC Women Leader Felicitates With Muslims

Women Leader of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Lagos State, Hon. Jumoke Okoya-Thomas has extended greetings to Muslims in Lagos State and in Nigeria generally as the nation joins others to celebrate this year's Eid-El-Kabir aka Ileya Festival. Okoya-Thomas, who thanked Almighty Allah for sparing the lives of Muslim devotees to see another Sallah celebration, urged them to use the occasion to pray for peace and security in Lagos State and in Nigeria. The Women Leader added in a press statement released to the media on Saturday and signed by her media aide, Oladipupo Awojobi that Muslims in the state had cause to celebrate despite the challenges in the country. Okoya-Thomas, urged Muslims in the state to emulate Prophet Ibrahim, who she said was faithful to Almighty Allah and obeyed Him till the last even when it was difficult. Sanwo-Olu’s Cabinet: Lagos Assembly Committee Drills 18 Nominees, 7 To Go

The Lagos State House of Assembly 16-man ad hoc Committee for the Screening of Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu’s Commissioners and Special Advisers nominees has drilled a total of 18 nominees, with seven to go.  The committee, headed by Hon. Rotimi Abiru, a four-term lawmaker representing Somolu Constituency II, had on Thursday screened eight of the 25 nominees. The committee however,vscreened additional 10 nominees on Friday to bring the number to 18 on the second day while the rest were slated to be screened on Saturday. The screening was carried out at the Lateef Jakande Auditorium, Assembly Complex, Ikeja. The committee at the first session on Thursday screened Mrs Toke Benson-Awoyinka, Princess Aderemi Adebowale, Mr Tunji Bello, Ms Adekemi Ajayi-Bembe, Dr Wale Ahmed and Prof. Akin Abayomi. Aregbesola Calls For Change Of Attitude By Nigerian Youths ...As Olulade Unveils "Eleniyan Perspectives"

Nigerian youths have been urged to change their attitude/values and pursue those things that will add to the development of the society. They were also advised to pursue their needs rather than wants so that they would not be involved in shaddy deals that could lead to consequences. A former governor of Osun State, Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola stated these at the launching of a book containing the opinions and suggestions of a former member of the Lagos State House of Assembly, Hon. Segun Olulade on national issues tagged; "Eleniyan Perspectives." The event held on Wednesday July 31, 2019 @ D' Podium International Event Centre, 31B, Aromire Road, Ikeja, Lagos. Eulogising Hon. Segun Olulade, Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola recalled that Asiwaju Bola Tinubu was not keen on contesting for governorship of Lagos State in 1998, but that he was encouraged to vie for the office by him and others and that a lady presented Olulade to the party as her son to work with them.

Lagos Assembly Drills Sanwo-Olu's Commissioner Nominees

The Lagos State House of Assembly on Thursday drilled eight commissioner nominees of Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu of the state for about five hours. It will be recalled that Sanwo-Olu sent 25 names of Commissioner nominees to the Assembly penultimate week for screening as stipulated in the constitution. A letter from the Governor containing the names of the 25 commissioner nominees were read by the Clerk of the House, Mr Azeez Sanni during plenary. The nominees were Mr. Rabiu Olowo Onaolapo, Mrs. Folashade Adefisayo, Professor Akin Abayomi, Dr. Idris Salako, Mr. Tunji Bello, Mr. Gbenga Omotoso, Mrs. Toke Benson-Awoyinka and Mrs. Bolaji Dada Others included Mr. Lere Odusote, Dr. Frederick Oladeinde, Mr. Gbolahan Lawal, Ms. Adekemi Ajayi, Mr. Femi George, Dr. Wale Ahmed, Mr. Moyo Onigbanjo (SAN), Mr. Hakeem Fahm and Mrs. Ajibola Ponle. Also on the list were Engr. Aramide Adeyoye, Mr. Segun Dawodu, Mrs. Uzamat Akinbile-Yusuf, Mr. Sam Egube, Ms Ruth Bisola
