Winners Emerge In Lucky Star Raffle Draw ...As Star Winner, Ajani, Goes Home With N1 Million

Winners have emerged in a raffle draw organised by Lucky Star Lottery Company on Saturday April 29, 2023 at Musaroq Mall, Ipaja, Lagos. Winners of various prizes and the star winner were picked through lucky dips from scratch cards sold by the company at the rate of N500 (five hundred naira) each. Star winner of the raffle draw, Mr. Aliu Ajani, went home with a cash prize of N1 Million (One Million Naira), which he won through a lucky dip picked by popular Nollywood actor, Afeez Owoh, who was supported by his colleagues including Jumoke Odetola, Adeniyi Johnson amongst others. Ajani, who works with Lagos Parks and Management, could not contain his joy after his name was announced. Tai Benedict so that it could put its house in order, allow the court and the party reach conclusions on the anti-party allegations made against them. Explaining the reason for the decision of the party on its two top members, the state Publicity Secretary of the party, Hon. Hakeem Amode, said in a statement dated April 27, 2023 ,that the state Working Committee of the party had no other option than to suspend the two gladiators. The Working Committee of the Lagos State chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has ratified the suspension of its Chairman, Hon. Philip Olabode Aivoji and his Deputy, Hon. Benedict Felix Tai. Vice Chairman, West Senatorial District of the party, Hon. Sunday Olaifa, was then directed to assume the office of the Chairman pending the outcome of the court case in an acting capacity, being the Vice Chairman from the Senatorial District of Hon. Olabode Aivoji. According to a statement issued and signed by the Publicity Secretary of the Lagos State PDP, Hon. Hakeem Amode, and dated Tuesday April 25, 2023, these decisions were taken at a meeting of Working Committee, which held on Tuesday, April 25 to deliberate on saving the soul of the PDP in Lagos State. LAWMA Visits Plastic Recycling Facility

The Lagos Waste Management Authority, (LAWMA), and the state's Ministry of the Environment, have paid a field visit to Polysmart, a wholly indigenous multimillion dollar plastic recycling facility, located in Aiyetoro, Lagos-Ibadan Expressway, to explore areas of partnership, towards solving plastic pollution challenge in the state and across the country.   The firm which began production in 2021, is into complete recycling of used plastic bottles, from collection to the production of six million food grade pet bottles on daily basis.   Speaking during the facility tour of the factory, the Managing Director/CEO of LAWMA, Mr. Ibrahim Odumboni, noted that the establishment of that firm was a dream come through, in actualization of the uncommon diligence and determination of the management team of the firm.   He said," This is a strong indicator that LAWMA is making all best possible efforts at ensuring plastic pollution is tackled in the state and here we are with Polysmart. Every four years present Nigerians with the opportunity to elect new leaders to pilot the country's affairs. However, citizens' rights are finite. They are not involved in the choice of legislative heads. This is the exclusive right of their representatives.  As the 9th National Assembly winds down, a fresh set of leaders will soon emerge. Expectations are high. Unlike recent history, the emphasis is on competence and not zoning, experience not aura, capacity and integrity, not ethnicity or religion. Hon Muktar Aliyu Betara embodies these and more.  A section of Nigerian society believes that the existing legislative circle did not do much to guarantee the sanctity of Nigeria's electoral value. According to these critical views, most of the laws passed by the 9th National Assembly were either self-serving or skewed to favour selected institutions at the expense of the electorates. The failings of this assembly were reasons adduced to the prolonged economic woes of Nigeria,
