2023 Presidency: Middle Belt Clergymen fault PFN President for backing Southern candidacy

Image
A group of clergymen under the auspices of Coalition of Middle Belt Clergy have distanced themselves from what they describe as divisive comments from some clerics. The coalition in a statement  by its convener, Bishop Prince Madaki on Tuesday in Abuja, said it was not part of alleged recent divisive comment credited to National President of Pentecostal Fellowship of Nigeria(PFN) Bishop Francis Wale Oke. "The Coalition of Middle Belt Clergy   unequivocally condemns the statement credited to Bishop Francis Wale Oke as highly unfortunate and unacceptable.  "The bishop spoke for himself and not for or on behalf of the Children of God.  "He did not speak in his capacity as the National President of PFN as that would amount to dragging a theological institution into politics, which would amount to surreptitiously imposing theocracy on the country.   He should not use the name of the Pentecostal fellowship for self gains and purposes or he should resign his spiritual commissio

Mele Kyari: A Reformer in the Belly of Lions- GGN

Image
We have long been admirers of  Mele Kyari, the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC) helmsman. We recall that upon his appointment he would spearhead notable reforms in the oil and gas sector owing to his impeccable track record in the cause of his illustrious career in the oil and gas sector.  Consequently, we were not disappointed with his conduct in reforming the country's oil and gas sector in ways too numerous to mention. But we know he was up against a mountain of challenges that have held the development of the oil and gas sector moribund for years.  The oil and gas sector in the country is like the game of Russian Roulette, where you must be brave to pull the trigger and when you do, it is either you get killed, or you stay alive. In his case, he pulled the trigger, and he stayed alive, but not completely.   The recent happenings in the country concerning the importation of toxic fuel presents a very delicate situation for him and the management of the NNPC.  Hea

National Convention: Group uncovers Baduru, Bagudu behind fake excos list before Buhari

Ahead of the All Progressives Congress’ February 26th national convention, Governors of Jigawa, Kebbi and the Ekiti States have been fingered to be behind the plot to impose candidates on the party through the backdoor. The APC Youth Development and Solidarity Forum said Governors Badaru Abubakar, Kayode Fayemi and Atiku Bagudu have perfected plans to impose Senator Sani Musa as the party’s national chairman.  Recall that President Buhari had reportedly rejected the proposal of two governors to adopt a certain aspirant as the next national chairman of the party It was gathered that President Buhari advised the governors to take their proposal to the party’s Caretaker Extraordinary Convention Planning Committee (CECPC), their fellow governors and other party leaders for consideration. The back door approach of the two governors is said to have widened the cracks in the Progressive Governors Forum (PGF) which is scheduled to hold a make or break meeting today in Abuja on the zoning of pa
