Ooni of Ife Declares Folorunsho Folarin Coker As Baba Eto of Yorubaland

Baba Eto of Ilara Kingdom in Epe area of Lagos State, Mr. Folorunsho Folarin-Coker has been declared as the Baba Eto of Yorubaland. The declaration was made by His Imperial Majesty, Ooni of Ife and Adimula of Yorubaland, Oba Enitan Adeyeye Ogunwusi, Ojaja 11 on Sunday September 26, 2021 during this year's celebration of the annual Olojo Festival, which held in the ancient city of Ile Ife, Osun State amidst much fun and celebration. Folarin Coker is a former  Lagos Commissioner for Tourism and the current Director General of the Nigerian Tourism Development Corporation (NTDC). The declaration was preceded by a pronouncement by Ooni through his representative at the commemoration of the first anniversary of the enthronment of the Alara of Ilara Kingdom, Lagos  HRM, Oba Olufolarin Olukayode Ogunsanwo, Telade IV on Thursday August 19, 2021. Obasa, Lagos Assembly Mourn Risikat Adegeye

The Lagos State House of Assembly on Tuesday mourned the passing of a former member, Hon. Risikat Adegeye. This was as the Speaker, Rt. Hon. (Dr) Mudashiru Obasa, described her demise as the "fall of a shining star." Adegeye, wife of respected musician, King Sunny Ade, was said to have died in the early hours of Tuesday after battling a brief illness. The Speaker, in a statement by his media office, said her death was shocking and that the incident had thrown him and his colleagues into mourning. According to Obasa, Mrs. Adegeye, a philanthropist, died at a period she was still very relevant to the progress of Lagos. "As a member of the Lagos State House of Assembly, she had a very robust relationship with her colleagues. "Madam Adegeye bonded with staff and management of the Assembly. She was always jovial and loved everyone irrespective of status. She touched lives. She truly did. "She also played very vital roles to the growth and development of Lagos. "

The Chairman of Ado-Odo/Ota Local Government area of Ogun State, Hon. Sheriff Adewale Musa has denied a media report insinuating that he was being used as a puppet by the Deputy Governor of the state, Eng. Noimot Salako-Oyedele, who hails from the local government area. Musa, who said that Salako-Oyedele remained his political leader having supported his candidature in the election, said that the report that the Deputy Governor wanted to impose political appointees on him must have emanated from fifth columnists in the council area.      Hon. Obasa Condoles CP Odumosu Over Mother's Death

The Speaker of the Lagos State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. (Dr) Mudashiru Obasa, has commiserated with the Commissioner of Police in the State, Mr. Hakeem Odumosu, over the loss of his mother, Alhaja Sikirat Odumosu. Alhaja Odumosu passed on at the Babcock University Teaching Hospital, Ilisan Remo, Ogun State on Thursday after a brief illness. She was aged 88. Consoling the commissioner, Obasa, in a statement by his media office, noted that even though Alhaja Odumosu left at a relatively old age, her demise is still painful. The Speaker urged Commissioner Odumosu to take solace in the fact that his mother played a vital role in moulding him and his siblings into becoming successful positive contributors to Nigeria. Crisis seem to be brewing in the highly industrialised Ado-Odo/Ota Local Government area of Ogun State with the alleged activities of the Deputy Governor of the state, Eng. Noimot Salako-Oyedele in the area. Source revealed that Salako-Oyedele, who hails from the local government area, is lording it over the newly elected chairman of the council, Hon. Sheriff Adewale Musa with her interference with happenings in the council. Unlike what she allegedly did during the campaign of the youthful chairman, we were told that the Deputy Governor insisted on taking charge of activities in the local  government, and turn the chairman to her puppet.
