Crisis in Ado-Odo Ota LG As Ogun Deputy Governor Turns Chairman To Puppet
Crisis
seem to be brewing in the highly industrialised Ado-Odo/Ota Local
Government area of Ogun State with the alleged activities of the Deputy
Governor of the state, Eng. Noimot Salako-Oyedele in the area.
Source
revealed that Salako-Oyedele, who hails from the local government area,
is lording it over the newly elected chairman of the council, Hon.
Sheriff Adewale Musa with her interference with happenings in the
council.
Unlike what she
allegedly did during the campaign of the youthful chairman, we were told
that the Deputy Governor insisted on taking charge of activities in the
local  government, and turn the chairman to her puppet.
An
instance was given of the appointments of supervirory councillors for
the council, special advisers, and personal assistant to the chairman
among others.
Those privy
to the development said that Salako-Oyedele wanted everything done in
her own way as she wanted her candidates in virtually all the available
offices.
"Our Deputy Governor is interfering with virtually all the issues in Ado-Odo/Ota LG even before the chairman could settle down.
"She
made it clear that she would provide candidates for all the available
political offices in the council including those of supervisory
councillors, SAs and even the PA to the Chairman.
"How could she do that and turn herself to a dictator to a man that was duly elected by the people of the local government.
"We know what we all all went through to ensure victory for Hon. Sheriff Musa both at the primary and general elections.
"The
Deputy Governor and her cohots now came out to say they would provide
all the political appointees in the council. This is is not acceptable,"
 said a source named Taofeek.
It
was gathered that the Deputy Governor is perpetrating this act with
members of her political camp in the local government with total
disregard to other stakeholders in the council.
We
were told that all efforts made by political leaders in the area to
make Salako-Oyedele see reasons and allow other stakeholders be part of
the process fell on her deaf ears as she reportedly insisted that "I am
the political leader here and I decide what happens."
Efforts
made to get the council Chairman, Hon. Sheriff Musa speak on the matter
proved abortive as he simply replied "no comment," when we got him on
the phone.
