The Lagos State Government and a Ghana Waste Management company JONSPONG on Monday signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) to treat solid and liquid in the state. The MOU which was initialled by the Commissioner Environment and Water Resources Tokunbo Wahab and Executive Chairman JOSPONG Group, Dr Joseph Agyepong will amongst other things establish a Material Recovery Facility to reduce downstream pressure (waste disposal volume) at landfills. The MOU will also involve putting in place Compact /Mobile Transfer loading stations to replace current stationary plants and reduce waste at pressure points such as  markets. Mr. Victor, a welder from Port Harcourt, Rivers State, experienced a harrowing incident on Wednesday, February 21, 2024, while at work in Ota, Ogun State. While going about his daily duties at a construction company responsible for building the ark in Faith Tabernacle, also known as Winner's Chapel, Victor faced an unexpected altercation with his boss, an Italian man named Mr. Lucas. The High Court of Delta State sitting in Effurun, Warri has refused the application filed by Nigerian-American singer, David Adedeji Adeleke, popularly known as Davido, seeking a stay of proceedings in the N2 billion suit filed against him by Brownhill Investment Company Limited over the annual ‘Warri Again Concert’ The claimant, in the suit number EHC/183/2023, is praying the court to award N2billion as general damages against Davido. Besides, the claimant is praying the court for N150 million as legal and professional fees, and additional sum N30million as cost of filing the suit.  Listed as defendants in the suit are David Adeleke a.k.a “Davido”, and his music label, Davido Music Worldwide Limited. Olusegun Ege noted that the current hardship being faced in the nation has gone beyond what could be handled mildly.  He said: “The Local Government should work on giving out palliatives, transportation should be subsidised and the health sector be carefully looked into because most people cannot even afford to go to the hospitals for medical care.”  Lending his voice, Hon. The Lagos State Government on Friday announced the commencement of full enforcement of the ban on usage and distribution of Styrofoam food containers all over the state. Making the disclosure during a meeting with all market leaders in the state at the BlueRoof Alausa, Commissioner for the Environment and Water Resources, Tokunbo Wahab said the enforcement will start across all markets on Monday. He added that enforcement officers from LAGESC/KAI, Environmental Health Officials and LAWMA Police and the Ministry will go after all those having the styrofoams in their shops, stores or outlets and confiscate them.
