NSE Inaugurates 2025 Board, Committee Members

The President of the Nigerian Society of Engineers, Mrs Margaret Aina Oguntala on Friday, January 31 inaugurated Boards and Committees for the year 2025 for proactive leadership.
Oguntala, during a zoom inauguration said that the composition of the Boards and Committees was in full alignment with the provisions of NSE's revised Memorandum and Articles of Association (2024).
"This strategic move has been carefully crafted to leverage the immense wealth of experience among our accomplished members, thereby enhancing our ability to achieve the goals we have set and ultimately propelling our Society to new heights," she said.
She explained the importance of the new team, who she said is the bedrock of proactive leadership, providing the necessary frameworks and actionable blueprints that will drive the objectives of the society in a coherent and logical manner.
"As such we rely on you to continually assess and when necessary, retool our ideas and ensuring that we promote good governance and meaningful impact on national development.
"Sincerely, I must acknowledge that the tasks ahead of us are no small feat, they are indeed herculean.
"However, I have no doubt that with collaboration, focus and strategic planning, these challenges are surmountable," she said.
Oguntala urged the chairmen to organise their members effectively and ensure that they actively and constructively undertake roles in the decision-making process.
The NSE President also advised the new chairmen to manage deliberations with clear focus on NSE's goals by ensuring that discussions were tailored in the direction of achieving the main objectives of the Society.
"I also expect regular communication with the Executive Committee. Keep us updated on your progress and provide actionable submissions to guide our decision-making," she said.
She encouraged all the Chairmen of the Boards and Committees to make frequent reference to the NSE Strategic Agenda Document to align with the Society’s vision for national development.
In addition, she urged the new leaders to leverage Information Technology (IT) resources, adding that, utilising online platforms for meetings will help reduce costs and mitigate the risks associated with physical travels.
Responding on behalf of the NSE Boards and Committees, Engr. Ibrahim Aliu, Vice President, Membership Services, pledged the commitment of the team to advancing goals of the Society.
Aliu thanked the Society for the giving them the opportunity to serve.
He said that the committees must deliver on their mandates, while urging them to be upright to deliver the vision to the best of their abilities.
Other committee chairmen took turns to pledge their support to make sacrifices that will ensure that the president who is in her last year in office, leaves legacies that will impact the nation positively.
