The All Progressives Congress (APC) Committee of Chairmen in Diaspora (Europe) has called on President Muhammadu Buhari to intervene and allow the Governor Mai Mala Buni-led Caretaker/Extraordinary Convention Planning Committee conduct the party's national convention as well as presidential primary. According to the group, the committee has followed international best practices and this must be adopted in charting the way forward for the APC ahead of the next general elections. The UNWTO General Assembly took place in Madrid, Spain from November 30 to December 3, 2021. Former governor Ibikunle Amosun may have surreptitiously begun the second phase of his move to control the Ogun State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) against the decision of the national leadership of the party. The former governor and his co-travellers were alleged to be behind a concocted list of chairmen of the APC across the 36 states of the federation, where Derin Adebiyi was mentioned as the chairman of the party in Ogun State. Sources revealed that this was done to confuse the members of the party in the state and “start another round of crisis, when the issues have been resolved during the Congress by the national leadership of the party.” The list was released on Friday December 10, 2021.
