The President of Senegal, Macky Sall has listened to the divine counsel of Primate Elijah Ayodele by fixing the presidential election of the country to a much earlier date than earlier proposed. The presidential election which should have originally been held in February was indefinitely postponed a few days to the election and later shifted to December 2024 by the parliament. This postponement caused a political crisis that led to death and unrest in the country. Primate Ayodele who has been warning President Macky Sall to be careful of his activities for some time now called on the president to reject the urge to extend his tenure and hold the election in December. The National Human Rights Commission  has been petitioned by a Lagos-based hotelier, Mr Ayobami Moses Idowu over allegation of unlawful invasion, destruction of his property and alleged theft of his gold necklace worth fifty million naira by men of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) Idowu's petition was written by his counsel, Complete Solicitors and Advocates, a legal firm based in Ibeju Lekki area Lagos State, and it was titled; "unlawful invasion of the residence and place of business of Mr Ayobami Moses Idowu, by men of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) led by ACN Adekunle Oduola  in violation of our client's constitutional rights." In the petition, which was signed by Chief Mutairu Aliu, the lawyers appealed to the commission to ensure justice for their client. There is currently unrest in Haiti following the activities of some gangs in the country. Several people have been killed and this has led to the government declaring a three-day curfew to ensure safety of lives. News reports have it that there was also a jailbreak, courtesy of the gangs and it led to the freedom of over 4,000 prisoners in the country, causing great security concerns. The security agencies in the country have also been overwhelmed due to these activities, the police unions have been calling for help due to the incessant attacks they have been experiencing in the last few days. The Lagos State Government and a Ghana Waste Management company JONSPONG on Monday signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) to treat solid and liquid in the state. The MOU which was initialled by the Commissioner Environment and Water Resources Tokunbo Wahab and Executive Chairman JOSPONG Group, Dr Joseph Agyepong will amongst other things establish a Material Recovery Facility to reduce downstream pressure (waste disposal volume) at landfills. The MOU will also involve putting in place Compact /Mobile Transfer loading stations to replace current stationary plants and reduce waste at pressure points such as  markets.
