A network of community-based organizations (CBOs) in Nigeria, the Coalition of Ethnic Nationalities' Rights Agenda, the South East Revival Coalition, and Progressive Yoruba Youth for Change have applauded the Minister of Agriculture and Food Security, Sen. The Agenda for Good Governance in Nigeria (AGGN) has applauded the Minister of Aviation and Aerospace Development Festus Keyamo for the significant improvements in the nation's airports. The group said following an independent tour of the airports, it noticed first-hand that the airports have witnessed considerable upgrades in infrastructure development. A statement by its President, Dr Bashir Mohammed said the proposed upgrade of the Margaret Ekpo International Airport Calabar, Osubi Airport, and Ibadan Airport, among others are proofs. A coalition of 100 pro-democracy groups in the country, under the auspices of National Patriotic Coalition (NPC), has commended Rivers State Governor, Siminalayi Fubara, for demonstrating political maturity in the face of provocations. The group noted that Fubara's level of political maturity is rare in Nigerian politics. In a statement signed by its President, Comrade Olusegun Johnson, and released to the press on Thursday, the NPC called on President Tinubu to once again intervene in the political crisis rocking Rivers State. A coalition of 140 civil society groups and non-governmental organisations, with thousands of members across the 23 local government areas of Rivers State, has pulled out from the August 1 nationwide protests. Under the aegis of the Rivers Good Governance Coalition, the group said it came to this conclusion after Governor Siminalayi Fubara's intervention. According to a statement signed by its president, Comrade Nwogu Moses, the coalition said that protest is not the solution as it would potentially lead to more hardship. While admitting the challenges facing the country, Moses said the group has resolved to collaborate with President Bola Tinubu and Governor Fubara. The Labour Party National Transition Committee (NTC) has issued a stern warning to its members and the general public against participating in illegal congresses being organized by the suspended former acting national chairman, Barr. Julius Abure, and his expired council. The NTC on Sunday described the congresses as "illegal, criminal impersonation, and broad-day fraud" aimed at defrauding innocent members and the public. According to the NTC, the reported congresses in various states, including Anambra, Imo, Edo, Rivers, Akwa Ibom, Sokoto, Ondo, Kaduna, and Adamawa, are in clear violation of a court judgment and the Nigeria Electoral Act.
