The Speaker of the Lagos State House of Assembly and Chairman, Conference of Speakers of State Legislatures of Nigeria, Rt. Hon. Mudashiru Obasa has called on Nigerians to continue to pray for a peaceful and successful General Elections in the country. The Lagos Assembly Speaker also saluted Nigerians for their resourcefulness, courage, prayers and support which have been vital to the successes so far recorded by the All Progressives Congress  (APC) administration at all levels of governance. The National Union of Ogoni Student International and Ogoni Lives Matter INTL have petitioned the United Nations Environmental Program (UNEP) on the activities of Hydrocarbon Pollution Restoration Project (HYPREP) and Shell Petroleum in Ogoniland, Rivers State Nigeria. The petition titled; “Withdraw Support with HYPREP/Shell’s Remediation Hoax  in Ogoni…. The Oba of Lagos Oba Rilwan Osuolale Akiolu 1 has said that God will not allow any other party apart from the All Progressive Congress (APC) to take over the State in the forthcoming general elections in 2019. Oba Akiolu stated this on Friday 21, December, 2018 at the 11th Annual Hijrah Lecture and Commissioning of the new  Lagos State House of Assembly Mosque. According to the monarch, the new Mosque is unique especially as it was built inside the Assembly complex where Bills are passed into Law. The Oba emphasized that it is not enough to build Mosque, but that the custodians of the Mosque should be properly taking care of.
