My Fourth Term Would Bring More Development To Ikorodu -Lagos Majority Leader, Sanai Agunbiade

The Majority Leader of the Lagos State House of Assembly, Hon. Sanai Agunbiade has said that his fourth term would take more development to Ikorodu Constituency 1 that he is representing in the Assembly.
Agunbiade was speaking to journalists at the official flag off of his campaign at Ita Elewa playground in Ikorodu on Saturday.
The lawmaker, who was overwhelmed by the turn out of his supporters at the event, said that there were some people in the constituency who found it strange that he was contesting for the fourth term, adding that a lot of people were ignorant of legislative duties, but that they had switched over to his side.
He added that there were those who didn't know that one could go to the Assembly as many times as possible, adding that such people place personal grudges ahead of community values or advantages.
"This is where I live and you can see the crowd despite the fact that some leaders have travelled to Ibadan, Oyo State for our South West meeting. Some of those that are contesting against me have been doing so since 2007.
"They thought I manipulated the process, I said that it was not about manipulation, that it is a conviction.
"I told them I am not the only lawmaker that wants to go to the assembly for the fourth term. There are five of us, Hon. Ibrahim Layode, Hon. Rotimo Olowo, Hon. Rotimi Abiru, Hon. Moshood Oshun and myself," he said.
The politician said further that what qualified him was that he is a citizen of Nigeria, an indigene of Ikorodu, a graduate that has the necessary qualifications and the fact that he is experienced.
He said that he had done a lot for the people of his constituency, and that he had given them practical representation.
On the second term ambition of President Muhammadu Buhari, Agunbiade said that Nigeria was moving forward very well and growing in leaps and bounds under President Muhammadu Buhari.
Also speaking at the event, Hon. Moshood Oshun from Lagos Mainland Constituency 2 said that it was not easy to become the Leader of Lagos State House of Assembly, and that he was an asset to Ikorodu, Lagos and Nigeria.
On other APC candidates for the general elections, he said that the Senatorial Candidate of the Lagos East under the APC, Hon. Sikiru Oshinowo, was the stability of the House of Assembly since the last 15 years due to his contribution, and that he would perform as a senator.
He also stated that President Muhammadu Buhari has been putting Nigeria where it belongs.
"Nobody wanted to deal with Nigeria in the past, but now you see the German Chancellor and the British Prime Minister coming to Nigeria. "Nobody wanted to deal with us before. If there is anyone that wants Nigeria to remain one, it is Buhari. There is no area of  Nigeria that has not experienced development under him," he said.
This was corroborated by Hon. Segun Olulade (Epe Constituency 2), who said that the APC would perform well in the forthcoming general elections.
He stated that the party was bringing more people into the fold, and that Ikorodu people believe in experience, which he said Agunbiade had.
"Ikorodu is blessed with the kind of representative it has in the state House of Assembly.
"With the Majority Leader of the House representing them, they would have good development," he said, and added that Hon. Bayo Oshinowo is a unifier, and the stabiliser of the House.
He said that he would perform well as a senator if he wins the forthcoming elections.
Another lawmaker, Hon. Rotimi Olowo (Shomolu 2), said that Agunbiade is an asset, and that he has the experience, he is committed and has the interest the people of Ikorodu at heart.
"I appreciate him as a man that is interested in his people. His people love him because they know that nobody can do what he is doing now.
"There is a Lawmaker in the United States of America, who has gone there 20 times. I want the people to go out to vote for him during the general elections. I thank God for his life," he said.
Olowo emphasised that the APC would return to power at the federal level in 2019, and that the PDP spent 16 years to destroy Nigeria.
His words: "It is not easy to build. President Muhammadu Buhari is trying to rebuild Nigeria and recover all the money they stole. Four year are not enough to repair.
"Our Governorship candidate in Lagos State, Mr. Babajide Sanwoolu is an erudite scholar, he was in the government of Mr. Babatunde Raji Fashola and in that of Governor Akinwunmi Ambode.
"Ambode met a strong foundation and he built on it. Sanwoolu would continue from there when he comes in and we would have a greater Lagos.
"Hon. Sikiru Oshinowo, who wants to be a senator under Lagos East Senatorial District, is experienced and he is one of the longest serving lawmakers in Lagos State.
"Let us all vote the APC to bring back the lost glory of Nigeria that was taken away for 16 years by the PDP."
The event was characterized by drumming and dancing by hundreds of residents of the area and party faithfuls, who trooped out in large number to be part of the colourful ceremony that lasted several hours.
