Lagos Assembly Chapel Gives Out Awards To Deserving Outgone Members

The Lagos State House of Assembly Chapel on Thursday 6th June, 2019  gave awards to the outgoing Christian lawmakers of the State Assembly.
Members of the Chapel who went round the respective lawmakers' offices were full of appreciation to the members for giving support to the Chapel.
The beneficiaries were Hon. Omotayo Oduntan, Hon. Segun Olulade, Hon. Adefunmilayo Tejuoso, Hon. Lanre Ogunyemi, Hon. Oladele Adekanye and Hon. Dipo Olorunrinu.
In an interview, the Chapel's patron, Hon. Victor Akande, who is representing Ojo Constituency I, disclosed that the Chapel decided to honour the outgoing lawmakers because of their sacrifices and supports for the chapel.
According to him, "Some of them have contributed immensely to the Chapel especially to the House of God. He (Hon. Olulade) was one of those that gave sermons in the mornings.
"We are here to show appreciation, we just have to thank him for what he has done in the last eight years. And we pray God will guide him in his future endeavours," Akande said.
While giving advice to the incoming lawmakers, Akande said, "They should emulate those that are going now. They should even surpass what they have done in terms of taking care of God's shepherds."
In his comments, one of the beneficiaries, Hon Segun Olulade said he was delighted for the honour extended to him by members of the Chapel.
"What a better way to end a tenure! The best thing that would ever happen to a man is to know God. I want to thank you for not only giving me the spiritual food, but your support in the fellowship. Men shall not live by bread alone but from the word of God," he said.
Olulade recalled that as a member of the House who was also devoted to the Chapel's service, he had to come early in the morning to deliver sermons.
He added, "Don't think this will be the last day of our time. You can call on me anytime. For me, this is the best thing that will happen to me."
