Ogun Information Commissioner, Odusile's Non-Performance, Fraudulent Activities Exposed

When the current Commissioner for Information in Ogun State, Hon. Waheed Odusile got into office in 2019, many had expected that he was a round peg in a round hole, having been a journalist for many years and served as the President of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ).

But the information at our disposal revealed that Odusile has not only disappointed, he has been using his office  "for selfish purposes and he is only interested in what he could make from the state government."

We were reliably informed that millions of residents of the state are disappointed in Odusile, who they believe has not done anything to show that he is the spokesman of the state government.

According to sources, it is not even clear what the duties of Odusile are as he has never written any article, column or issue any serious statement on behalf of the state government.

"Odusile doesn't mix with the journalists and correspondents covering the state. He even snubs them and he doesn't regard them as partners in progress.

"The Commissioner rarely goes to the television or radio stations in the state or in Lagos to promote the state government or sell the government's programmes.

"He rarely writes newspaper articles or features and the only thing he brought to government was his position as a former NUJ President.

"Even his tenure as NUJ President was characterised by fraud," said a source.

The source revealed further that Odusile short-changes journalists covering the state each time the Governor sent money to them through him.

He gave an instance of when the National Reconciliation Committee of the All Progressives Congress (APC),  headed by Senator Abdullahi Adamu went to Abeokuta, the Ogun State capital to meet the two major factions of the party in the state and Governor Dapo Abiodun released N500,000 (five hundred thousand naira) to the media.

According to him, Odusile pocketed N300,000 (three hundred thousand naira) and released only N200,000 (two hundred thousand naira) to the media.

"When President Muhammadu Buhari came, the Governor gave media N1Million (One Million Naira), Odusile again pocketed N700,000 (seven hundred thousand naira) and gave media N300,000 (three hundred thousand naira).

"Odusile doesn't mix with journalists and he snubs them, even at government events.

"He is the worst Information Commissioner so far and he has come to Ogun State to make money," he said, adding that the commissioner is rather destroying the state government rather than promoting its image.
