Paseda, A Paper Weight Politician, Perennial Loser, Says NGO

A non-governmental organization based in Ota, Ogun State, Good Governance Initiative (GGI), has described the Social Democratic Party (SDP) governorship candidate in the 2019 governorship election in Ogun State, Otunba Rotimi Paseda as a frustrated politician and a perennial loser.

GGI was reacting to a statement credited to Paseda that Governor Dapo Abiodun was an accidental governor, who did not deserve a second term.

GGI, in a statement signed by its leader and a Public Affairs analyst, Alhaji Malik Ibitoye described Paseda as “a spent force and a frustrated politician that should not be taken seriously.”

Ibitoye said Paseda was doing the bidding of some politicians in the state, who are intimidated by the achievements of Governor Abiodun in just over three years with the 2023 general elections fast approaching.

“It is surprising that after being part of the All Progressives Congress (APC), for over three years, Paseda is now realising that Prince Abiodun is now an accidental governor and that his own (Paseda) political juggernaut brain is now working accidentally. Juggernaut that has NOT won ANY election all his life,” he said.

The NGO boss recalled that Paseda, just like the late Kashamu Buruji, was quick to congratulate Dapo Abiodun in 2019 after his victory at the polls.

He added: “Paseda is a paper weight politician. His score in the Ogun State governorship election is less than 1,500 when he contested on the platform of the Unity Party of Nigeria (UPN) in 2015 and later under the Social Democratic Party (SDP) in 2019. He should be contesting for local government chairmanship seat of his local government.

“He is nothing, but a frustrated politician, who believes in destroying others to achieve his selfish aim. The people of Ogun State know those who love them and those who are opportunists.

“We know his likes and it is not too surprising that he is making this kind of statement at this critical time to score cheap political points.

"It is foolhardy for Paseda to think that he has any influence on the good people of Ogun State. He should know that he and his principals cannot sway the people of Ogun State with lies and character assassination.

"Our people have been experiencing the beauty and the dividend of democracy in the last three years and they are ready to follow the winning team and vote for the APC, including Governor Dapo Abiodun in the 2023 general elections,” the statement read.
