Lagos PDP Celebrates Bode George At 77

 





The leadership of the Peoples Democratic Party -PDP in Lagos State has congratulated Chief Bode George, the Atona of Oduduwa of Yoruba land on the occasion of his 77th birthday. 

The message was contained in a statement signed by the Lagos State PDP Publicity Secretary, Hon. Hakeem Amode.

"We are proud of you and of your leadership of our party at the National level, the South West region and Lagos state in particular.

"Your contributions towards the enthronement of PDP government in the country and the south west region remains a feat that the party is poised to achieve in the coming elections.

"As we celebrate you this year Chief, we pray that when you will celebrate the fourscore, our party would have formed the government in Lagos state and you will be honoured with the presence of the serving governor of your party," the statement read.

CSOs Demand Urgent Police Investigation Into Alleged Murder of Ishola Salami

Civil Society groups, including the Centre for Human and Socio-economic Rights (CHSR), Frontline Socio-economic Research Centre (FSERC), Campaign Against Impunity (CIA), Centre for the Physically Challenged and Peoples Rights (CPCPR), Community Women Initiative (CWI) and Workbond Initiative Network (WIN) have called for investigations into the death of Mr Ishola Salami by the Nigeria Police. United States of America (USA)-based groups; Ogoni-American Organisation, the National Union of Ogoni Students International (NUOS INTL USA), the Center for Democracy Human Rights and Anti-Corruption International (CDHRAC INT'L USA), and the Movement for the Survival of the Ogoni People (MOSOP) has written a letter to Shell Oil, United Kingdom on the purported onshore oil sale of Shell activities in Ogoni, Niger Delta, Nigeria.
