Well, would you like to be rewarded with cash for doing your civic duty?

Then, download Whistle app and ensure that vehicles sharing the road with you are compliant with their paperwork.

How?

Whistle app which was launched today by a team of talented young Nigerians, helps you to report reckless drivers, traffic congestion, dangerous vehicles, and road accidents.

With Whistle app you can save lives, earn money, help other road users avoid traffic congestion, in addition to ensuring sanity on the road.

Whistle uses data obtained from private companies and crowdsourced information from other road users across the country to provide data on vehicle license, insurance, and roadworthiness.

In other words, whistlers can use this App to escalate issues with reckless drivers, social issues as well as traffic violations and congestions.

Speaking during a media parley for the introduction of the beta version of the app, Temitope Hundeyin, General Manager of Glenwater, the owners of Whistle App, said Whistle is a purpose-built solution for Nigerians to solve uniquely Nigerian problems.

Hundeyin said that Whistle grew out of trying to address some of the daily frustrations that commuters face as Nigerians getting about with their daily lives.

“We looked at the issue of constant hazards on our roads, the incessant traffic and other various social problems that affect our quality of life and we developed a solution that relies on the power of everyday Nigerians to collaborate to make an impact”, the GM said.

What can Whistle App do?

Hundeyin continued,
“Whistle is a mobile app that utilises crowdsourced information to achieve several key things such as:

Report dangerous vehicles and dangerous driving

Report traffic congestion and get the appropriate authorities to clear bottlenecks.

Report Accidents to secure aid for accident victims and ensure the road is clear for smooth traffic.

Flag vehicles driving with expired paperwork and instantly notify authorities to issue fines where applicable.

We refer to our app users as Whistlers, every report submitted by a Whistler is backed by picture or video evidence and then seamlessly escalated to the appropriate authorities to provide a resolution.

Part of what makes Whistle unique is that we have integrated a virtual wallet into the app that houses the rewards Whistlers receive for filing a report.

This means that for reporting a vehicle driving with expired papers, the Whistler will earn a share of the fine paid.

We are confident that Whistle will save lives. Any Nigerian will be able to quickly alert authorities if they see a vehicle on the road that is likely to cause havoc”.

It was gathered during the media launch session that the submissions will automatically provide officers with the precise location of the dangerous vehicle.

Alerts for traffic congestion and others will work in a similar fashion.

“The entire team is thrilled with what we’ve created with Whistle and its impact in Nigeria and I am looking forward to Nigerians downloading the app to improve their lives and to create a safer and saner society”, Hundeyin, said.

The Whistle App is available on Google PlayStore for download.
