How Ondo State Is Winning The War Against Flooding under Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa

Image
In years past, the arrival of the rainy season sent waves of anxiety across many communities in Ondo State. From Ilaje to Idanre, residents would brace themselves for the devastating impact of floods, homes submerged, roads cut off, livelihoods ruined, and in some tragic instances, lives lost. However, this painful reality is now being rewritten, thanks to the bold and unprecedented efforts of the administration of Governor Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa. Flooding has remained one of the most pressing environmental challenges in Ondo State, especially in low-lying and riverine communities. In Akure South, parts of Odigbo, Ondo East and West, and particularly the coastal terrains of Ilaje, tales abound of how families were forced out of their homes, crops destroyed, and roads rendered impassable due to blocked canals and unchecked water channels. For years, these communities called for intervention, often receiving minimal or delayed responses. The lack of proper drainage, unregulated urban ...

Ganduje’s Resignation: Why You Must Not Joke With Primate Ayodele’s Prophecies

Image
By Tofunmi Adeniji When prophets speak about someone, it’s always better for the recipient to listen with an open mind, try to think about the reason behind such words, seek clarifications where necessary, and even speak to the prophet if necessary, because they don’t just speak without seeing anything. Unfortunately, many people get it wrong and resort to counterattacks as though prophets are troublemakers. Whenever a prophecy doesn’t favour them, they quickly employ media agents to speak ill of the prophet, even as far as lying against them. They automatically assume the position of an antagonist against a prophet who innocently gave a word of knowledge, but in the end, that very thing they abused the prophet for ends up coming to pass. They end up as bad losers. This is the situation of the APC National Chairman, Umar Ganduje, who has submitted his resignation letter in what seems like a sudden development. Although he gave reasons like health concerns but many political actors have...

Dapo Abiodun And The Fake News Enterprise

Image
By Kayode Akinmade  IN case you read anything this week claiming that the Ogun State Government announced a multimillion dollar diary deal with Qatari firm, Baladna, just know that it was the fake news enterprise at work. Was Baladna in Ogun State to explore investment opportunities? Yes. But did the Ogun State Government announce that it had reached an agreement with the diary giant? Absolutely not. So how was such a straightforward news misrepresented so badly? Well, the opposition never sleeps, and its reach is wide. It thrives in chaos because the Dapo Abiodun administration is fulfilling its promises and the Ogun populace is taking ample notice, excited at the prospects that lie ahead. This is too much for the naysayers, the men and women of yesterday who told everyone, before the 2015 polls, that Dapo Abiodun was going to be a monumental failure, to bear. Daily, they see the remarkable progress that Ogun is making and it drives them nuts because it is cementing their politica...

The government also earned $1.59m from crude oil exports in April 2025, during the period it suspended sales of domestic crude allocations to the Dangote refinery and local refiners.
