Eko United Launches Progressive Lagos Initiative, Adopts JANDOR as preferred Implementor of Ideas from Lagos Elites

Eko United, a coalition of Lagos professionals and innovators, has launched the Progressive Lagos Initiative, a policy-driven platform designed to increase elite participation in governance and shape Lagos’ next phase of development.

The initiative was unveiled at a press conference in Lagos on Wednesday, convened by Eko United under the Chairmanship of Mr. Wole Olagundoye, alongside other leaders of the group including Dr. Idowu Agarawu, Mr Ahmed Buhari, and Mrs. Aderonke Oyelakin.

Eko United said the Progressive Lagos Initiative would serve as a hub for technocrats, academics, and professionals to contribute reforms that address the growing complexities of Lagos. The group maintained that while the grassroots have historically driven political participation, the time has come for Lagos’ intellectual class to play a stronger role in policy formation.

The coalition announced its unanimous adoption of Dr. Abdul-Azeez Olajide Adediran JANDOR as the preferred figure to implement Lagos’ next-level vision, describing him as a data-driven and unifying leader. According to the group, JANDOR accepted on the condition that Progressive Lagos Initiative also supports President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s 2027 re-election and remains loyal to the APC irrespective of the outcome of its governorship primaries.

Eko United clarified that the move is not a campaign since INEC is yet to lift the ban on 2027 political activities, but an effort to sensitize professionals for their civic responsibilities.

The group urged Lagos professionals to join the initiative and contribute ideas through Progressive Lagos Initiative platform which aims to build a smarter, more competitive Lagos driven by intellect and innovation.
