Institute for Tourism Professionals of Nigeria ITPN Inducts Students, Academic Staff Members Of Aerovessel Group Of Schools

Hundreds of students of Aerovessel Group of Schools, Department of Travel, Hospitality and Tourism Management and some staff of members of the institution, owned by Dr Abolaji Kelani, who doubles as the South-West Coordinator of ITPN, were on Wednesday, January 28, 2026, inducted into the Institute of Tourism Professionals of Nigeria (ITPN).
The induction ceremony held at Novatel Hotel, New Road off Chevron, Lekki, Lagos.
Speaking at the event, Dr Kelani said that Aerovessel Group of Schools is renowned for its high standards and remains committed to producing graduates who add value to the aviation, tourism and hospitality industries.

While thanking God for the grace bestowed on the institution as a leading aviation, tourism, hospitality and information technology training school, he noted that the watchwords of Aerovessel are standard and excellence.
“Over the years, we have produced graduates who are working assiduously for the growth and promotion of the aviation, hospitality and tourism industries. Our products are our testimonies.

“We want to assure members of the public that we will not relent in our efforts, as the school is determined to keep raising the bar in the aviation and tourism sectors.
“We provide training in hospitality, artisans and business management, aviation and tourism management, cargo handling and logistics, and information technology, all designed to equip students for success in today’s global industries.

“With expert instructors and hands-on training, Aerovessel prepares students to become certified professionals and industry leaders,” he said.
Addressing the newly inducted members, Dr Kelani urged them to be worthy ambassadors of the institution and to strictly adhere to the ethics of the profession.
According to him, membership of ITPN provides a platform for excellence and personal growth, advising the inductees not to limit themselves but to take advantage of opportunities that come their way.
“Membership of ITPN is a call to service. I want you to be the best tourism professionals. The sky is your limit if you follow professional ethics and strive for excellence in practice.
“We are proud of you as a training institution, and we believe you will not disappoint us.
"There are job opportunities in the sector, and I want you to be the best wherever you find yourselves,” he added.
The Chairman of the occasion was the National President of the Federation of Tourism Associations of Nigeria (FTAN), Alhaji Aliyu Badaki (PhD), while the Grand Patron was the National President of ITPN, Chief Abiodun Odusanwo.
Keynote speakers at the ceremony included Professor H. A. Bakare of the Department of Hospitality Management, Federal University of Agriculture, Abeokuta (FUNAAB); the National President of the Nigerian Association of Tour Operators (NATOP), Hajia Bolaji Mustapha; and the Vice President of FTAN, South-West Zone, Dr Gbenga Sunmonu.
The speakers encouraged the inductees not to be discouraged by the prevailing economic challenges in the country, stressing that Nigeria remains a land of opportunities.
They noted that as the third-largest economy in Africa and the most populous Black nation in the world, Nigeria possesses vast tourism potentials that can be harnessed by professionals with vision, innovation and determination.
