APC Ogun Supports Amosun’s Suspension, Calls For His Expulsion
The All Progressives Congress (APC),
in Ogun State has described the suspension of the Governor of Ogun State,
Senator Ibikunle Amosun, by APC’ National Working Committee (NWC), “as long
overdue”.
In a press statement issued in
Abeokuta on Friday, and signed by the APC Ogun Caretaker Committee’s
Publicity Secretary, Tunde Oladunjoye, the party described the action of the
National Working Committee in suspending Amosun as “long overdue.”
The statement reads: “we received
the NWC’s decision wholeheartedly and we say it is long overdue”
“Governor Amosun’s actions constitute
a huge demonstration of ingratitude and party disloyalty. We are calling on the
National Executive Committee (NEC) of the party to go ahead and expel Governor
Amosun from the party without further delay. This will teach him a lesson and
serve as deterrent to people who may want to follow his inglorious path.”
It will be recalled that the
National Working Committee (NWC) of the APC announced the suspension of
Governor Amosun and Governor Rochas Okorocha of Imo State on Friday after a
crucial meeting over issues bothering on anti-party activities.
