The All Progressives Congress (APC), in Ogun State has described the suspension of the Governor of Ogun State, Senator Ibikunle Amosun, by APC’ National Working Committee (NWC), “as long overdue”.
In a press statement issued in Abeokuta on Friday, and signed by the APC Ogun Caretaker Committee’s Publicity Secretary, Tunde Oladunjoye, the party described the action of the National Working Committee in suspending Amosun as “long overdue.”
The statement reads: “we received the NWC’s decision wholeheartedly and we say it is long overdue”
“Governor Amosun’s actions constitute a huge demonstration of ingratitude and party disloyalty. We are calling on the National Executive Committee (NEC) of the party to go ahead and expel Governor Amosun from the party without further delay. This will teach him a lesson and serve as deterrent to people who may want to follow his inglorious path.”
It will be recalled that the National Working Committee (NWC) of the APC announced the suspension of Governor Amosun and Governor Rochas Okorocha of Imo State on Friday after a crucial meeting over issues bothering on anti-party activities.
