Why Kashamu Buruji of PDP Will Win Ogun State Governorship Election
Senator Kashamu
Buruji, who is contesting the forthcoming governorship election in Ogun State
under the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has been tipped for the coveted office
based on his antecedents.
Buruji, representing
Ogun East Senatorial District at the red chamber, is said to possess attributes
that have endeared him to the people of the gateway state over the years.
Sources revealed that
a lot of people in the state regard him as a compassionate politician, who had
done a lot for the needy under his 'Omo Ilu' Foundation.
We were informed that
Kashamu has been paying the medical bills of the indigent people in the state
many of whom he has never met physically.
It was revealed that
Kashamu sponsors people for the treatments of ailments such as cancer, fibroid,
kidney disorder and many others.
A source gave example
of a woman with breast cancer in Ota area of Ogun State, whose treatment was
sponsored by Kashamu, who has never met her physically.
Kashamu, we gathered
ordered that the woman should be taken to a leading hospital in Lagos State,
where he sponsored her treatment.
There was also the
case of a young man, who had an accident in Ota, Ogun State and was treated on
the bill of Kashamu Buruji.
"Kashamu has so
far distributed 2,000 buses to different people in Ogun State, who use them for
commercial purposes.
"He has a large
followership in Ogun West and Ogun central despite the fact that he is from
Ogun East and he has established a lot of people by giving them money to start
their businesses.
"Kashamu has been
doing something similar to 'Trader Moni' of the APC for so many years as he
gives money to the poor and indigents to start businesses," said a source,
who added that he is known by many people in Ogun State as a philanthropy with
milk of human kindness," said a source.
It was revealed that
Senator Kashamu Buruji has had a good relationship with some political leaders
in Ogun State in the past including former president Olusegun Obasanjo and
former governor Gbenga Daniel until he parted ways with them.
We were however
informed that efforts were being made to reconcile with the two leaders and
other leaders of the party in the state.
Sources within the PDP
in Ogun State also informed us that contrary to insinuations in many quarters
that the PDP was divided in the state, what is happening is mere clash of
interest, which is currently being resolved so that the party could have
victory at the governorship polls and give the people of the state dividends of
democracy as against what the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) has been
giving them for the past eight years.
Attribution was made
to unity rallies held across the state early in the year between the 'Omo Ilu'
Faction of Kashamu Buruji and the Ladi Adebutu faction of the PDP, where
it was agreed that the two factions would work together after a court ruling on
the matter.
The court ruling
eventually favoured Kashamu Buruji Faction and it was gathered that the next
court ruling on the matter is slated for March 6, 2019 three days to the
governorship election with feelers that the ruling would favour the Kashamu
Faction of the PDP.
