FRSC Zone 2 Commander Bows Out Of Active Service, Charges Personnel On Integrity, Effective Service Delivery, By Kazeem Akande




 (NAN) The Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) Zone 2 Commanding Officer, Assistance Corps Marshal (ACM) Rotimi Adeleye, has bowed out of service after 33 meritorious years of service.


The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports senior officers in police and Para-Military agencies honoured Adeleye at his retirement ceremony on Tuesday.


In his remarks the Assistant Inspector General of Police AIG Abiodun Alabi, In Charge of Zone 2, said it was a pleasure to have met him in the line of duty at the same and proud of him for the job well done.


Alabi who was represented by Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) Umar Shelleng, said that Adeleye having served with his capacity, integrity and knowledge deserved to be honoured in retirement.


"It is well that ends well, we wish to congratulate you on this day and wishing you well after your meritorious service years.


"We have made to understand you served well with integrity and that's why we wish you the best out of service," he said.


The Lagos State Commandant of the Nigerian Security and Civil Defence Corps, (NSCDC) Usman Alfadarai, in his remarks said the Corps was felicitating the zonal commander having work with him in different ways in the line of duty.


" NSCDC have partnered FRSC in different duties, so it is on this note that we are congratulating FRSC zone 2 commander and wishing him the best in his next endeavors.


Engr Akin Fashola, the State Director of Vehicle Inspection Service (VIS) in his words said he had a cordial relationship with the zonal commander and FRSC at large.


"As you are handing over the batton of leadership to others we wish you the best in your retirement," Fashola said.


Juli Nwoha, the National Coordinator, Celebrity Special Marshal in her remarks applauded Adeleye for his effective service to the country and to the humanity.


"It is not easy being on the road for 33 years, at times the motorists you are protecting will fight or abuse you on duty. so it is a pleasure to be here celebrating your retirement," she said. 


Adeleye while given his remarks thanked Almighty God for seeing him through in his 33 years of service.


According to him, it is amazing how time flies as I remember starting work as a young officer with several ups and downs along the way but here am I, taking a bow for it has ended in praise.


"I want to thank the Corps Marshal, Dauda Biu for giving me the privilege to retire within my region, zone 2 comprising Lagos and Ogun.


"Also we want to thank Corps Marshal for the fresh hope his administration has ushered into the Corps as all staff are positive for a most progressive future for the Corps.


"As an adage says, uneasy lies the head that wears the crown, I pray for my colleagues that are still in service that they will finish well also," he said.


He advised the personnel to always do good to others and always serve with integrity.


The FRSC boss added that the personnel should imbibe the mantra of 'Espirit de Corps'  because no one could do it alone.


"The teamwork system should be employed as more can be achieved within a short period of time," he said.


NAN reports that the Zonal commander joined the service as a Deputy Route Commander and have grown through the ranks to become an Assistant Corps Marshal. (NAN)
