Moving From Technology to Politics: Life and Career of Dipo Daramola, the “Dipo of Lagos"




Dipo Daramola, just like the stone that was rejected by the builder but later became the cornerstone, had a very humble background but later advanced in life to be a light to his generation.

Daramola is a relatively new name among the youth in Lagos, where he has gained popularity and earned the nickname “Dipo of Lagos.”

He is the founder of DARAMSWORTH SERVICES, a service technology mobility company in Northern Europe (Finland) that provides high-tech mobility services for the urban population. The company’s focus is on providing innovative solutions to transportation problems, with a view towards making urban living more sustainable. Daramola’s vision for the company is to provide services that are both efficient and environmentally friendly, and he has been successful in achieving this goal. His work in the technology sector has been recognized by many, and he is considered a thought leader in the field.

In addition to his work in the technology sector, Daramola is also a senior Adviser and a non-executive Director to AFROGATE CONSULTING, a service management company that facilitates business interaction between European tech companies and the African private sectors. His extensive experience in the technology sector has made him an asset to the company, and he has been instrumental in helping to build bridges between the two continents.

Daramola’s involvement in politics is also notable. In 2010-2011, he volunteered as a freelance Adviser on Cyber Security and Information Systems to the administration of President Goodluck Jonathan and received an honorary invitation by the President. He is the lead convener of HAMZAT-SANWO OLU Diaspora grassroots organization, a patriotic umbrella organization of over 500 youths tasked with delivering public sector projects for the impacts of youths and awakening political consciousness in our social polity. He played a crucial role as an Assistant Director – New Media in the TINUBU/SHETTIMA & SANWOOLU/HAMZAT INDEPENDENT CAMPAIGN COUNCIL.

Daramola is a staunch follower, student, and believer in the philosophies of the Lagos Deputy Governor, Dr. Kadri Obafemi Hamzat, whom he has worked with in unofficial capacities for the past 10 years. Upon whose advice, he came back home to bring his diaspora experience into grassroots politics in Nigeria.

Dipo Daramola is a strong advocate of the inclusion of grassroots politics into national development and has been involved in this field for over 10 years. His contributions to the technology sector, service management, and politics are impressive, and he continues to make a significant impact in these areas. Daramola’s work is a testament to the power of innovation, dedication, and hard work, and his contributions have been recognized both nationally and internationally.

CSOs Demand Urgent Police Investigation Into Alleged Murder of Ishola Salami

Civil Society groups, including the Centre for Human and Socio-economic Rights (CHSR), Frontline Socio-economic Research Centre (FSERC), Campaign Against Impunity (CIA), Centre for the Physically Challenged and Peoples Rights (CPCPR), Community Women Initiative (CWI) and Workbond Initiative Network (WIN) have called for investigations into the death of Mr Ishola Salami by the Nigeria Police. United States of America (USA)-based groups; Ogoni-American Organisation, the National Union of Ogoni Students International (NUOS INTL USA), the Center for Democracy Human Rights and Anti-Corruption International (CDHRAC INT'L USA), and the Movement for the Survival of the Ogoni People (MOSOP) has written a letter to Shell Oil, United Kingdom on the purported onshore oil sale of Shell activities in Ogoni, Niger Delta, Nigeria.
