Renewed Hope Initiative (RHI) Supports Flood Victims Of TradeMore Estate, Lugbe, Abuja With Cash Donations ...57 Households Gets N250K Each



Help has come the way of victims of the June 23, 2023 flood, which occurred at the TradeMore Estate, Lugbe Abuja, through the Renewed Hope Initiative of the Office of the First Lady of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, CON, OON. 

In her remarks at the brief event, the First Lady, through her representative, wife of the Vice President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, HE Hajia Nana Kashim Shettima, sympathized with tje victims over the unfortunate incident.

While saying that there is no assurance that such an incident would not reoccur, since the rains are not yet over, she stated that the outreach and intervention of the RHI will go a long way in reducing their pains.




These were contained in a release signed by the Special Adviser on Media to the First Lady, Mrs. Busola Kukoyi.

The First Lady said that though the initiative is still in the process of registration by the CAC, she could not turn the other eye under the present circumstances of the TradeMore Estate in her domain in Abuja.

Responding on behalf of the beneficiaries, Chairman of the Resident Association of the estate, Dr Adewale Adenaike thanked Senator Oluremi Tinubu and the Renewed Hope Initiative for the kindness and support extended to them, especially at this trying times.

A sum of N250,000 (two hundred and fifty thousand naira) was given to each of the 57 households by RHI.

CSOs Demand Urgent Police Investigation Into Alleged Murder of Ishola Salami

Civil Society groups, including the Centre for Human and Socio-economic Rights (CHSR), Frontline Socio-economic Research Centre (FSERC), Campaign Against Impunity (CIA), Centre for the Physically Challenged and Peoples Rights (CPCPR), Community Women Initiative (CWI) and Workbond Initiative Network (WIN) have called for investigations into the death of Mr Ishola Salami by the Nigeria Police. United States of America (USA)-based groups; Ogoni-American Organisation, the National Union of Ogoni Students International (NUOS INTL USA), the Center for Democracy Human Rights and Anti-Corruption International (CDHRAC INT'L USA), and the Movement for the Survival of the Ogoni People (MOSOP) has written a letter to Shell Oil, United Kingdom on the purported onshore oil sale of Shell activities in Ogoni, Niger Delta, Nigeria.
