Lagos PDP Felicitates With The Party’s Presidential Candidate In 2023 General Elections, Atiku Abubakar



The Lagos State chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has congratulated the party's Presidential Candidate in the 2023 General Elections, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar, GCON, (Waziri Adamawa), on the occasion of his birthday.

The party said that "we rejoice in your continued presence and graceful aging, considering it a divine gift. Your resilience and unwavering commitment to serving our fatherland have transformed you into a living legend, untouched by the challenges encountered on your noble journey."

The party said in a statement by its Publicity Secretary, Hon. Hakeem Amode, and dated November 25, 2023, that "as you celebrate this day, we pray for more years filled with good health and prosperity. 

"Your selfless service to humanity and Nigeria has not gone unnoticed, and we believe God will grant you increased strength, abilities, and opportunities to contribute even more to our beloved country."

The party commended his "historic stand against military rule and your relentless efforts to lead Nigeria as its President." 

"Your legacy as the nation's Vice President remains unparalleled, showcasing your steadfastness and commitment to progress despite challenges faced during those times.

"Alhaji Atiku Abubakar, you have become an institution, building a political family that spans decades. Your followers remain steadfast, a testament to your leadership and vision for a better Nigeria through the PDP.

"Today, it is clear: you are either for Alhaji Atiku Abubakar, Turaki Adamawa, or you are for others. As a septuagenarian, your tireless dedication to serving the people has made you a phenomenon in Nigeria's political landscape," the statement read.

Amode added that "as you mark this special day, we assure you of our unwavering support. The PDP will stand by you as you continue your journey of offering productive services to Nigerians, in accordance with God's plan for you.

"Happy birthday once again, our undisputable leading political leader. May you continue to enjoy moments of happiness and provide direction to your teeming followers."

CSOs Demand Urgent Police Investigation Into Alleged Murder of Ishola Salami

Civil Society groups, including the Centre for Human and Socio-economic Rights (CHSR), Frontline Socio-economic Research Centre (FSERC), Campaign Against Impunity (CIA), Centre for the Physically Challenged and Peoples Rights (CPCPR), Community Women Initiative (CWI) and Workbond Initiative Network (WIN) have called for investigations into the death of Mr Ishola Salami by the Nigeria Police. United States of America (USA)-based groups; Ogoni-American Organisation, the National Union of Ogoni Students International (NUOS INTL USA), the Center for Democracy Human Rights and Anti-Corruption International (CDHRAC INT'L USA), and the Movement for the Survival of the Ogoni People (MOSOP) has written a letter to Shell Oil, United Kingdom on the purported onshore oil sale of Shell activities in Ogoni, Niger Delta, Nigeria.
