The situation within the Federal University Ado-Ekiti has taken a different turn after the leadership of the National Youth Council of Nigeria (NYCN), Ekiti State Chapter, declared a State of Emergency over what it described as a move “to end impunity and restore integrity in FUOYE.” The NYCN in a letter dated 29th October 2025 and jointly signed by its Chairman, Amb. James Bankole and its General Secretary, Silas Olawale said “after exhausting all official channels,” including submission of “a detailed petition to the presidency, relevant ministries, and national anti-corruption and security agencies, exposing the corruption and moral decays threatening FUOYE,” it was time for a decisive action.  The NYCN Ekiti State Chapter said it will relocate its Operational Headquarters to FUOYE main campus from Monday 3rd of November, 2025, stage a daily peaceful mass protest until their “non-negotiable demands” are met. The petition was titled: “Petition against ongoing administrative manipulation, corruption and abuse of due process in the appointment of a new Vice-Chancellor at the Federal University of Oye-Ekiti (FUOYE).” The NYCN said to be representing the collective voice and future of Nigerian students and youth appealed to President Tinubu who is also the Visitor to FUOYE to turn his attention to “the grave irregularities, corruption, and coordinated administrative abuse” in FUOYE. For the receivership of debt amounting to $1 billion, Nigerian banks have taken over Nestoil Limited. The development led to the Nigeria Police Force sealing off the corporate headquarters of Nestoil Limited in Victoria Island, Lagos. A Federal High Court sitting in Lagos had on October 22, 2025, issued an order of Mareva authorising First Trustees and its subsidiary, FBNQuest Merchant Bank, to take over the company’s assets. Justice D. I. Dipeolu issued the injunction against the defendants — Nestoil Limited and its affiliate, Neconde Energy Limited, as well as Ernest Azudialu-Obiejesi and Nnenna Obiejesi, the principal promoters. The Ogun State Government, on Wednesday, reaffirmed its resolve to complete all ongoing road projects across the state, saying that the Dapo Abiodun-led government will never take the yearnings of the Ogun people with levity. The government, which made this declaration in a statement issued by Hon Kayode Akinmade,  Special Adviser to Governor Abiodun on Media and Strategy, said that its resolve to spread development across the three senatorial districts and 20 local governments in the state remained unshaken. Governor Dauda Lawal of Zamfara State is reportedly preparing to meet with President Bola Tinubu today, fearing the loss of his re-election bid due to a mass defection of key Peoples Democratic Party members.  On Tuesday, he lost another PDP state House of Assembly member, Hon. Maharazu Salisu (representing Maradun II, also known locally as Hon. Ogun State Governor Prince Dapo Abiodun has reassured residents that no part of the state will be left undeveloped. He promised that ongoing infrastructure upgrade will spread to all communities across the three Senatorial districts.  The government, according to a statement by the Governor's Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Mr. Kayode Akinmade, is  simultaneously working on four major highways in the  Ifo, Sango Ota and Idiroko axis of the state. The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Ogun State has alerted the public to a sinister plot by disgruntled politicians in the state to discredit the government of Prince Dapo Abiodun by hiring mercenaries from outside the state to comb the nooks and crannies of the state, record videos of bad roads, and use them to blackmail the government.
