Lagos APC 2025 Chairmanship Aspirants Seek Refund of Nomination Fees, Pledge Support for Tinubu’s Re-election
The Lagos State All Progressives Congress (APC) 2025 Chairmanship Aspirants Conference has appealed to Governor Babajide Olusola Sanwo-Olu and the State Party Chairman, Pastor Cornelius Ojelabi, to honour the party’s earlier promise to refund the nomination fees paid by aspirants during the July 2025 local government chairmanship primaries.
The group made the appeal in two separate letters addressed to Governor Sanwo-Olu and Pastor Ojelabi, both dated September 8, 2025.
The letters, titled “Consideration and Solidarity for the 2027 Re-election Bid of His Excellency, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR,” were jointly signed by the Convener of the Conference and the General Secretary.
In the correspondence, the aspirants reaffirmed their unwavering loyalty to the APC and pledged to mobilise massive grassroots support for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s re-election campaign ahead of the 2027 general elections.
“We humbly seek your indulgence with our Conference to present our structures and readiness to deliver massive grassroots mobilisation for the 2027 mandate,” the letter read in part.
The group further called on the Governor and the State Chairman to recognise their loyalty, steadfastness, and sacrifices to the party by revisiting the earlier commitment to refund the Chairmanship Nomination Form fees paid by aspirants who submitted their bank drafts as directed by the party.
“We are convinced that refunding the nomination fee, as well as offering political consideration to our members, will energise our structures and deepen our capacity to deliver results,” the aspirants stated.
They also emphasised that their inclusion in the political plans and appointments of the Sanwo-Olu administration would further strengthen the APC’s grassroots base and enhance the party’s performance in future elections.
“As aspirants who heeded the party’s call and made sacrifices during the last chairmanship contest, we have continued to stand firm in our loyalty to the APC. Our grassroots machinery remains well established and ready to mobilise effectively in support of Mr. President’s 2027 re-election,” the statement concluded.
