Lagos PDP Mourns Death Of Mother Of Deputy Governorship Candidate ....She Was Epitome Of Motherhood

 








The Lagos State Chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has commiserated with its Deputy Governorship Candidate in the 2023 general elections, Barrister Olufunke Akindele and her family members, on the death their mother, Dr. R. B. Adebanjo-Akindele.

In a statement signed by the Lagos State PDP, Publicity Secretary and
Chairman, Media and Publicity, JandorFunke 2023 Campaign, Hon. Hakeem Amode and dated February 7, the party described Dr. Adebanjo-Akindele "as an epitome of motherhood, a respected medical doctor and an astute disciplinarian with great positive influence on her children, relatives and the society at large."

According to the party, Dr. Akindele "lived an exemplary life as the mother of one of the most popular and successful actresses and politicians in our time and so in death we should celebrate her life.

"We are sure her legacy and her works will continue to keep her alive in the minds of those that are her relations and those she had affected positively."

It was added that "on behalf of the leadership of our party, the gubernatorial candidate of our party, Dr. Abdul-Azeez Olajide Adediran (Jandor), the party executives and the entire members of the PDP in the state, we express our deepest heartfelt condolence to our Deputy Gubernatorial Candidate, Barr Olufunke Akindele and the entire members of Akindele family.

"We pray that God will grant the family the fortitude to bear her demise."

CSOs Demand Urgent Police Investigation Into Alleged Murder of Ishola Salami

Civil Society groups, including the Centre for Human and Socio-economic Rights (CHSR), Frontline Socio-economic Research Centre (FSERC), Campaign Against Impunity (CIA), Centre for the Physically Challenged and Peoples Rights (CPCPR), Community Women Initiative (CWI) and Workbond Initiative Network (WIN) have called for investigations into the death of Mr Ishola Salami by the Nigeria Police.
