Tradition Meets Diplomacy: Ambassador Isola’s Historic Six-Horse Carriage Ride




In a memorable moment from history, Ambassador Sarafa Tunji Isola OFR was transported to Buckingham Palace in grand style, riding in a regal six-horse drawn carriage. This carriage, graciously provided by Queen Elizabeth II, served as the official conveyance for the ambassador as he journeyed to St. James’s Court. There, he presented his letter of Credence, formally assuming his role as Nigeria’s High Commissioner to the United Kingdom.

The occasion was a remarkable one, showcasing both tradition and diplomacy. The Coalition of Civil Society Organisations in collaboration with the Centre for Citizens’ Rights has urged the Inspector General of Police to rebuild public confidence in the Nigeria Police Force. Speaking at a press conference in Lagos, the President of the Coalition, Adeyemi Olorunsogo and its Secretary, Kolawole Abe Emmanuel, said Nigerians expect professionalism, impartiality, and accountability from the leadership of the Force.
