Renewed Hope in Motion: Tinubu’s Reforms Gradually Reshaping Nigeria’s Economic and Governance Landscape — Alalade

A chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Hon. Ademola Alalade from Ibadan North, has said the reform-driven policies of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu are gradually translating the administration’s Renewed Hope Agenda into tangible progress across Nigeria’s economy and governance structure.

Alalade, in a statement made available to journalists, said the policy decisions taken since Tinubu assumed office in May 2023 demonstrate the administration’s commitment to addressing long-standing structural challenges confronting the country.

According to him, one of the most significant steps taken by the government was the removal of the petrol subsidy, a move he described as difficult but necessary to end what he called a “huge fiscal drain on national resources.”

He explained that the decision has helped free up funds that can now be redirected to infrastructure development, social programmes, and other strategic sectors capable of stimulating economic growth.

The APC stalwart also pointed to the unification of Nigeria’s exchange rate system as another key reform designed to restore transparency in the foreign exchange market and rebuild investor confidence in the country’s economy.

“President Tinubu’s economic reforms are gradually laying the foundation for a more stable and competitive economy. While some of these decisions require patience, the long-term benefits will far outweigh the temporary challenges,” Alalade said.

He further noted that the administration’s focus on revenue mobilisation, fiscal discipline, and institutional reforms is beginning to strengthen governance and improve the efficiency of public sector operations.

Alalade added that the government’s renewed emphasis on infrastructure development — including roads, rail, power, and housing — is critical to unlocking productivity and attracting both local and foreign investment.

He also highlighted programmes aimed at food security, youth empowerment, and support for small and medium-scale enterprises, noting that such initiatives are intended to cushion the effects of economic reforms while expanding opportunities for Nigerians.

The Ibadan North APC member urged citizens to remain patient and supportive of the government’s policies, stressing that meaningful national transformation requires bold decisions and sustained commitment.

“The Renewed Hope Agenda is not just a slogan; it is a comprehensive blueprint for rebuilding Nigeria. What we are witnessing today are the early but important steps toward a stronger and more prosperous nation,” he said.
