Lagos Guber Poll: Jandor Condemns Incessant Attacks On His Campaign Train





The Governorship Candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Lagos State, Dr. Abdul-Azeez Olajide Adediran aka Jandor has condemned the incessant attacks on his campaign train.

Jandor stated this during a meeting with Council of Chief Imam in Ketu Central Mosque in Kosofe Local Government area of the state during his campaign tour of the council.

The campaign train of Jandor had come under attack earlier on the Tuesday in the council area by hoodlums in which one member of his security team was stabbed. 

Similar others had occured in various local government areas since Adediran commenced his tour of the 245 wards in the state on October 19, 2022.

Jandor’s campaign train was attacked in Badagry during his campaign tour of the area last year. 

During the Badagry incident, several vehicles in his campaign train weee damaged, while some people
in the campaign train were wounded.

Just last week, his campaign train was attacked in Agege Local Government area.

Jandor noted that such trend was not healthy for democracy in the country, stressing that he was undeterred by the attacks.

Speaking further, the PDP gubernatorial candidate said that he was motivated to join the gubernatorial race due to his desire to rescue Lagos State and end the suffering of the people, while seeking the prayers and support of the religious leaders.

“We don't want what is happening again. I want to be Governor for Lagosians. I want to know why people are suffering and how I can solve their problems. that is why I am moving round the state and across all the wards.

“Thanks for your support, I can feel your prayers. I will be the Governor this year. I know it is only God that can give and take, if God gives you, no one can take it," he said.

Responding, the missionary and leader of the Imams, Ismaheel Kajola, said that it was impressive as religious leaders for them to give audience and prayer for all the candidates, who seek their blessing, while praying that God would grant Jandor his heart desire.

CSOs Demand Urgent Police Investigation Into Alleged Murder of Ishola Salami

Civil Society groups, including the Centre for Human and Socio-economic Rights (CHSR), Frontline Socio-economic Research Centre (FSERC), Campaign Against Impunity (CIA), Centre for the Physically Challenged and Peoples Rights (CPCPR), Community Women Initiative (CWI) and Workbond Initiative Network (WIN) have called for investigations into the death of Mr Ishola Salami by the Nigeria Police.
